About bogon prefixes:

Bogon (or "martian") prefixes are address ranges — private-use space, loopback, documentation ranges, multicast, and reserved-but-unallocated blocks — that should never appear as a source or destination on the public Internet. This checker covers the well-known static categories from the IANA special-purpose address registries; it does not check live BGP announcement status.

Classify a prefix against the well-known static IANA special-purpose address ranges.

Inputs

An IPv4 or IPv6 address or CIDR.

Outputs

Whether the prefix is a bogon, which range(s) it matches, and the governing RFC.

Example

Check whether 100.64.0.0/10 (CGNAT shared space) is safe to route externally.
